ATLANTA PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER | GIRL'S TRIP TO ASHEVILLE TO SEE THE CHIHULY

I love spontaneous people! ❤️ Friends who are “yes” people like me - who agree before they even know what they are getting themselves into. On the very last day of the Chihuly Glass Exhibit at the Biltmore Estate, we went, we toured, we wined and we conquered.
I also love Chihuly Glass! Karen said, I am in . . . but what’s a Chihuly? How fun was it to explore a place where your guest had absolutely no expectations. It was a 3.5ish hour drive from Atlanta to Asheville, plus or minus a few, and it breezed by like it was mere minutes. When you leave at 6am, you have the whole day in front of you.
First we did a quick tour of the grounds and the greenhouse, my favorite part of the Biltmore Estate. We made it in time for our 11am house tour with audio and even though I have been through the house before, there is always something new to see and learn. February is the time to visit! Crowds were small and we had the house to ourselves with about 20 other people.
Time for lunch . . . but who has TIME for lunch when there is so much to see in ONE day? An ice cream cone at the Biltmore village would have to do. We enjoyed an awesome wine tasting with a very knowledgeable server and left having purchased a few bottles and more.
Now for what we really came for! How could this day get any better? The Chihuly exhibit was fantastic. I am so glad we made it! The next place it will be is in Australia which would have been a much more expensive trip. 🤪 You could spend hours looking at the glass creations. So much to see! What a successful day. After a brief stop near Greenville for dinner we were back in town by 9pm. Don’t ever take for granted a day away with friends. This trip may seem exhausting to some, but it truly was rejuvenating and inspiring in so many ways. Thanks Dale Chihuly and the Biltmore Estate and to my newest travel buddy Karen for this fantastic day trip.
