60th Birthday Party in Smyrna, Georgia
A few weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing a wonderful friend and fellow photographer in Smyrna, Georgia. The setting was at Brawner Hall, a beautiful southern mansion perfect for the occasion. This surprise 60th birthday party was in the works for over a year with people traveling from far and wide to be in attendance.
As guests descended on Georgia from places around the country - California, North Carolina, Connecticut, and New York and some originally from India, the excitement was palpable. It was difficult to keep this secret from such an inquisitive man but his family was able to hide party supplies right under his nose in his own garage and correspond with friends and family all over the world without him ever knowing.
The greatest reward for the guests was to see his face as he entered the room. Such surprise, joy and gratitude was visible in his smile. People from his 60 years of life congregated to celebrate a man who had done so much for all of us. Everyone had a unique story but the common theme was of this selfless person who always went out of his way to put others before himself. He is kind. He is inclusive. He is a perfect friend to anyone who has the privilege of knowing him.
It was an honor to witness and capture such an event. Kudos to all involved in pulling it off!
